Geo Log Cabin

Geo Log Cabin
2015
Log cabin and strip piecing, straight line quilting
Fabric: 100% cotton
Batting: 100% cotton
57”H x 56”W

This was my first quilt, and sets up the rules I made for myself: design around a whole cloth that catches my imagination, opt for asymmetry when possible, obsess about fabric choices, learning something new each time. And forget about the math. For this first one I carefully worked it out mathematically, thinking that was how it was done. Over time I have become much more intuitive about the math, which comes from designing my own rather than following precise patterns. This is a contemporary version of a traditional log cabin quilt.
