Batting: 80% cotton, 20% polyester

An extremely dynamic quilt in both color and design, the background, foreground and borders all work together in a textural whole. The background began with tradition 9-patch squares, which are still visible in the purple section on the right. I cut up the other blocks into smaller pieces, then reassembled them to create the sparkling gradation from orange to purple. The fans radiate over the background, and are anchored by the striped and dotted borders.
